Go to the doctor immediately and ask for the morning after pill (apparently it works for several days after).

A few pointers here:

1. You're 15 - you're much too young in years and maturity to be having sex. Not only that but both you and the guy you're sleeping with are breaking the law. He can be prosecuted for statutory rape, even if you gave consent, as you are under age.

2. Next time you have sex make sure both you and your partner are responsible. USE A CONDOM! Pregnancy is the LEAST of your worries from unprotected sex. You could get any number of sexually transmitted diseases that can screw up your life a lot more than a baby would.

Pleas think twice before getting yourself into a sexual situation again. It's obvious from your question that you are far from ready at the moment.

Unfortunately, the morning after pill is only effective 72 hours after you had unprotected sex. Since you had sex three days ago, and probably can't get to the pharmacy in time, the morning after pill wouldn't really be effective in your case.

There is ALWAYS a chance of getting pregnant when you have unprotected sex. No matter if you're on your period, had just come off of it, or getting ready to start it, there's always a chance. Which is why you should use protection every single time. Don't feed into things like "I'll pull out," or "It'll be okay." Even if you do somehow dodge pregnancy, there are other things like STD's- which sometimes have NO symptoms whatsoever- that can be caught from just one time. Two women I know got pregnant their very first time. It can happen to anybody. You should really consider going on the pill. That way, if you accidently forget to use a condom (which shouldn't happen, but I know it does), you'll be protected from unwanted pregnancy.

Be safe! And always use a condom!

1) You are 15. That is illegal but I'm sure you know that!!
2) You are 15 - what we're you thinking?
3) You did not use a condom - doh!! Have you not heard that STDs are on the increase and that the HPV can lead to cervical cancer?
4) Did your parents not talk to you about contraception?
5) What's the point of thinking about contraception now, 3 days later?
6) Do you have any self respect?
7) Do you think the guy has any respect for you? The answer to this one is NO!!!!
8) The morning after pill works up to 72 hours after sex but the sooner you take it the better.
9) What would you do if you were pregnant? Be another statistic on the growing abortion rates and kill the unborn?
10) Next time keep your legs shut!!

Adelle,

Please ignore all the screaming and shouting we have ALL made mistakes.

The morning after pill is only effective for 72 hours after you have had sex, count back now it might be a close call. You can get one from a pharmacy (it is expensive though) or from a hospital (A and E) - as it was three days ago you don't have time to wait until tomorrow to make a doctors appointment. You do need to act now.

OK, that bit over, there is a chance you could be pregnant BUT it is not neccessarily high, regardless of where people are in the menstruation cycles most women need to try for a baby for at least a few months. If it is too late for the pill, please don't worry too much, it is by no means guarenteed that you are pregnant. You do need to be more sensible in the future, I am sure you know that now.

STD's, yes there is a risk BUT it is not likely that you have become infected. Most STD's are fully treatable anyway.

Help: If it was less than 72 hours ago phone NHS direct (UK) or equivalent they will direct you to an out of hours center.

More than 72 hours then, calm down - you need to get to bed and get some sleep. Make a doctors appointment first thing in the morning (or if you'd rather not see your family GP go to a family planning clinic) let them know what has happened - they wont judge you, they are there to help. You can't take a test until after your next period is due (the pregnancy hormone has not built up enough to trace until then) your doctor will be able to reassure you about the liklihood of pregnancy and of course s/he will talk you through precautions for the future. Your doctor will probably take a blood test too - to check fot STD's. Please don't be afraid to contact them, they will not contact your parents without your permission.

There are plenty of horror stories, people who have become pregnant after their first time - there are many more lucky escapes.

Once again, try not to worry,

Ash

You have 72 hours to take the morning after pill. You also need to be 18 in order to obtain it, if I'm not mistaken. All you can do now is wait. You should talk to your parents about your situation.

If you turn out to not be pregnant, get on the birth control pill. You are not only messing up your life, but you are going to mess up a poor innocent child's life by being so foolish. The pill is not 100% effective, so you should also use condoms. This will also protect you against disease.

This is exactly why sex education needs to be taught in schools instead of abstinence. There are plenty of birth control methods out there, and with proper education, teenage pregnancies or maybe pregnancies would decrease.

I think you should refrain from having sex until not only after you have found out if you are pregnant or not, but until you are 18 and understand sex and birth control better. If you knew you should have used a condom, why didn't you?

And, the pull out method does not work effectively. Nor does the whole " I can't get pregnant on my period or right after belief". You are fertile every day of the month.

The morning after pill works for up to 72 hours (three days) after sex so it's too late for that, but don't panic. It's not impossible, but unlikely that you're pregnant. If your periods are regular, then you probably ovulate between 10 and 14 days before the first day of your next period. So if your period just finished, then although it is not impossible, you were probably not ovulating 3 nights ago. Please use this experience as a warning and don't take this risk again - it's just not worth it for the price of a condom. You risk not just pregnancy but nasty sexually-transmitted disease as well. If you do get pregnant go straight to your GP for help and advice. All the best.

Apart from the fact you are underage and if the guy was 16 he has committed an offence , what you did was so silly and if you are going to have sex you must insist the gut wears a condom , and puts it on as soon as he is erect because semen can be [resent before orgasm when the male is highly aroused pray for all your sakes that you are not pregnant and hope that being the case you have learned from this mistake how stressful the after effects of passion can be
I cant comment on the morning after pill as I do not know what the technical limitations are , but as it is called "morning after" I assume it must be taken the day following intercourse
Please learn from this , I hope you escape the ultimate result of pregnancy , but if not I am sure your parents will support you even if they are a bit upset to begin with.

Odds are, you won't get pregnant that close to having had your period. The morning after pill is called that for a reason -- it needs to be taken within 72 hours of intercourse. But, nothing, and I mean nothing, is fool-proof if you haven't used protection. And, I hope this is a lesson to you.

Someone commented on the "pull out" method. Do not be fooled into thinking this is an effective birth control, because it is NOT -- and my niece is here to prove it -- as "pre-ejaculatory semen" can leak out of the penis, and they contain those little swimmy things called sperm; even a drop or two on the thigh and sperm can still work their way up the vagina to fertilize an egg.

Condoms along with with a spermicide gel (in case the condom breaks or leaks) should be in your anti-pregnancy arsenal if you plan on being sexually active. Talk to your mother about birth control, also. Do NOT rely on the morning after pill every time you have sex!

You should read this website and figure out your cycles now, before you become an adult.

I would highly recommend not having sex until you are married. If you do end up pregnant you will be stuck with a child probably alone. If you do end up pregnant and have an abortion there is always the chance that it can cause you to become infertile. Which means when you get older you may not be able to have more children. I work with women and that does happen even though most doctors don't tell their patients that. Also, the morning after pill doesn't always work either, sometimes the mom ends up with a deformed child because she thought she wasn't pregnant but that drug messed that child up. Our housekeeper has a child like that, sad story!

It's truly not a good idea to be having sex when you are not married.

There is no way in the entire world you will be able to find out if you're pregnant yet. Most of the time, if you've just finished your period then it takes a week for you to ovulate. And contrary to what most young girls believe, you can only get pregnant around the time you're ovulating. So if I were you, I'd stop worrying about it.
P.S: It's too late to take a morning after pill. Supposedly the latest to take it is 72 hours.
