Well ... IMHO, Aubrie is downmarket. She's gonna be one of a million interchangable little girls with flimsy names like Kylie and Rileigh. The same Disney Princesses lunchbox, the same Bs on her math quiz.

Aubrey is very, very different. She's a little bit taller, a whole lot smarter and far more sophisticated. Aubrey's the one packing her lunch in a box she decorated herself - and the other kids want one, too. She's the soccer captain, and maybe the valedvictorian, too.

What a difference a "y" makes!

Maybe a little withdrawn....mousy brown hair, or even red (copper) colored. Basically a good person who would be a good friend...but always a bridesmaid and never a bride.

BUT...I have found that a person makes a name and not the other way around. So...it's a pretty name, if you like it...go for it. But I would spell it with a Y...Aubrie looks more like a boy's name.

It makes me think of the only Aubrey I've known...a short, very blonde, curly-haired dancer who was quite irresponsible.

Also, for what it's worth, I wouldn't listen to someone who thinks your daughter can be a valedVictorian. (not sure if that means she's valid and victorian, but it doesn't mean she's smart.)

I think of a girl with a tomboy side and a girly side, tends to lean a bit more towards the tomboy side. Likes to hang out with guys, play cards, do that sort of stuff. Probably has dirty blonde hair and green eyes.

Wealthy, slim, pale complexion, auburn hair, is well known at horse and dog shows, never walks her dogs or runs her horses but she has people for that. Is convinced that she is stationed above everyone she meets, except her own family, and she's not quite sure about them. In her middle 20s she discovers the joys of clubbing and slumming in general. Be fore long she falls for a marginal type, ( played by Sean Penn ) who, not surprising ly treats her badly, until she finally flees to return home and face her family's recriminations. That and re-hab, which has become quite fashionable in her absence. And so on.
