You can see the ocean from my back yard, and the last time it snowed here, people here just went half crazy. Schools close, I mean if it snows an inch, schools close, children take cardboard and try to sled ride on it. Cars, just slide all over the streets. I mean I am from WV and we would drive our cars, no matter how many inches were on the road. Still it is very nice not to have to shovel. the stuff. I used to love to go to Pitts burg and see Gimbals and Kaufman's at Christmas time and my children used to love to see the trains in the basement of the Planetarium. No my Chrismas will be without snow, but we will walk on the beach and collect shells.

I love East Texas, piney woods country.
Answer: I don't think I want a white Christmas because of traveling problems. But, white Christmas is beautiful.
Having come from the gulf coast, I always wanted it to snow at Christmas, but since being caught in a snowstorm on the highway during Christmas, driving 5 miles an hour, I have learned I prefer that the snow comes afterwards. Love the idea, though.

As late as 20 years ago I used to go to my sister's house in Pollock Pines, CA which is about 40 minutes drive from Sacramento, CA where I live. I think that was the last time it snowed at her house for Thanksgiving and it doesn't put down that much, maybe six inches by Christmas. I remember in 1971 after I got out of the service when I was there they got 7' on the 25th, 6' on the 26th and 5' on the 27th. It was said it was the worst storm anyone could remember in at least 70 years and since everyone knew everyone else there they asked the 90 year old guy and he said the same thing.

I'd like that new John Denver Live in Russia cd. Otherwise I'm driving my friends mad because there's nothing I really need or want , well other than money or gift cards to my favourite stores LOL.
Since I live real close to Buffalo NY but am the Canadian side of the border , it's pretty likely I'll get snow for Christmas , snow's coming tomorrow apparently. So you in east texas, if I could ship some to you I'd be happy to.

Teresa, I live near the Gulf coast here in southeast Texas. We had snow about 3 or 4 years ago for the first time in, I think, 50-some years. It didn't last real long but it was soooo
beautiful. The whole family was over and it was Christmas Eve. I'll never forget how special that was.

I live in the mountains in California. We have a white Christmas about every 3rd year but everyone's really hoping for one this year. The lack of snow pack and water have contributed to the drought and we all know that was a huge part off the problem during the fires.
The times we do have a white Christmas are wonderful and special.

No. I ride a motorcycle year around, snow or not, but I'm
not happy atop black ice or cold cousins. I've been to East Texas. That's where folks combine six ounces of deviled ham with one cup of chopped ripe olives before adding one teaspoon of grated onion. Then they combine six ounces of liver spread (their speciality, I'm told), mixing with one tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice, just off a tree.
Place each mixture in an identical but seperate mold. After
some 'fridge time stack the two back to back. Go find some crackers. Serve with lively twang and a fiddle. This is your
Xmas present off the Internet.

Lord no! I live in the upper Mojave desert in the Great Basin. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and left shortly after my 18th birthday. I soon learned if the Pilgrims landed at Malibu instead of Plymouth and they had put Ellis Island in Los Angeles harbor instead of New York; New England and many of the Atlantic States (along with the Upper Midwest) would be still inhabited by Native Americans only. LOL!

Had lovely White Christmas's when I lived in some parts of Europe and the the UK. But Christmas down south is summer, so the hope of snow is remote.
I Loved Christmas in London and Europe.
