I wouldn't suggest giving yourself a deadline like tomorrow. You need to get involved in something. Band, a school club, boy scouts, uh sports, go to the YMCA and join in a pick up game of basketball. Go to a sunday school class at a local church. Finding something in common with other people is the best way to start a conversation. You don't have to be a comedian, just give people an opportunity to get to know you. Make a goal tomorrow that you are going to enroll in something at school other than just school. Be patient with yourself and more importantly, be happy with the shy person you are. I'm impressed though that you are pushing yourself to change. I don't see that in too many people. Keep it up!

Start small. A low stress way to overcome your shyness is to engage people in conversations. Try this at least once every day. It could be with total strangers (sometimes it's easier with strangers), like the server who makes your coffee at Starbucks. Just exchange a few words with them, you'll feel more confident, slowly, not overnight.

dude, good question. I on the other hand, don't have the ambition to change. I'm quiet, and dont' have many friends, and boys/men avoid me..... it sucks.
