1/3x+1/4y=2
1/4y=2-1/3x
y=8-4/3x

3/x + 4/y = 2 is definitely not a linear equation, if you multiply both sides by x*y you will get
3y + 4x = 2xy, this is not a linear equation.

3/x + 4/y = 2
Multiply by xy, getting:
3y+4x = 2xy
This is not a linear equation
y = 4x/(2x-3) is a rational equation
