In the story of David and Goliath, David was the historical figure who became King David of Isreal and Judah. He died 961 b.c., so the the story dates to about the 10th century b.c.

The story of David and Goliath happened long before Christ was born. So definitely not in the 17th /18th century unless you mean 17th/18th century before Christ was born.

David and Goliath is a BIBLE STORY... the BIBLE goes back 2000 YEARS... so that BIBLE STORY goes back 1300 YEARS OR MORE.
