If you get a "lecture" from any beautician then you know you have the wrong beautician and you best not only not tip her but leave her and never go back.

I've cut my own hair (length and bangs) for more years than I can count, have also started out as a beautician having 3 state licenses. A beautician is trained to be kind, and to sell products and services and not tear a person down for trimming their own bangs no matter how short they are. In fact short bangs are cute, and, you can push them to the side, and they do grow back. There have also been women out there who have shaved their heads to be bald and yet have been in style.

Don't fret over bangs too short...just make sure they are even so when they grow out or as they grow out they will look like you had them done professionally. Short is cute.

No, but I cut them so short I had to wear a headband for a few weeks while they grew out - this was in 8th or 9th grade. I didn't get a lecture from a beautician, I got boys asking if I'd had brain surgery.

Well, I haven't, but the last time my mom tried to cut my bangs *she* did, and I banned her from ever touching my hair with scissors ever again lol. The last time I cut my bangs myself I did a really good job, but they go off to the side of my face, so you couldn't really tell if they were crooked anyway...

Yeah i decrease off a strand in front final 12 months and that i regretted that yet thankfully i replaced into waiting to disguise them and while they grew out to love exceedingly long bangs (properly no longer precisely in simple terms shorter strands of hair) it looked large so i like it :) I kinda choose for to attempt bangs yet im scared :) I nevertheless hate getting haircuts to this present day and im 13 :)

Yes I've done that - and said, "I'm never cutting my own hair again". Then sooner or later I do and this time I even tried to layer it on my own and OMG!!! and I say, "I'm never cutting my own hair again" - but sooner or later I do and I try to trim it and it's all uneven and looks like I took a hedgeclipper to my hair and I say, - wellllllllll you get the idea. I never learn

Never cut my bangs to short but did the sides. Cost me money to have someone fix my mess. A lot more than it would have first.

I've been known to cut them too short, but my beautician has never yelled at me for it!

She's was pretty cool about it, and offered that if next time I needed to trim my bangs to come in to the salon and she would cut them for free!

No, I'm so afraid of doing it, I cut them long...I have dyed my hair an stunning shade of orange once though, and listened to the hairdresser's lecture.
