Ok so i am upgrading my video card...long story short, it blows, i need a new one. I have my eyes set on the Nvidia 8800GT, its only 300 dollars and it sounds like the best out there....my question though is, considering the 8800GTS is only 20 more...which is the literal best Nvidia card? is the 8800GT really the best or what? i would love if you would list the top 3 or 5 you know of within the 0-350$ price range.

The options i see on their website are----
GeForce 8800 Ultra
GeForce 8800 GTX
GeForce 8800 GTS (640 MB & 320 MB)
GeForce 8800 GT

And tiger direct has something called 8800GT XXX

All thoughts and opinions are welcomed thanks

Right now 8800GT is best bang for the buck in the 8800 series. BUT the GTX and Ultra are still better at very high resolution and with AA and AF enabled (and expensive of course).

first of all, newegg.com usually has lower prices, and you can compare the cards. to be completely honest, you probably wont notice a difference between the gt and gts. although, the gts is better. if you have a decent power supply and processor you will be good to go. i have the gtx superclocked and its great. there is also a few really good ati cards, but i dont know anything about them cause ive always gone nvidia.
