soak the paper in coffee or tea and let it sit for a little while. then carefully take it out and hang it up to dry.
when it's dry, light the edges and some inside parts with a lighter. I've just done this a couple weeks ago and it looked awesome everone loved it. =]

Tear pieces off it around the edges. Or you (an adult) can very carefully burn the edges. Then you take a wet tea bag and dab it around on the paper. Let it dry and you have aged it. You can start with a paper grocery bag to have it brown already and skip the tea bags.

You can burn small parts of the paper, even put the piece of paper in the oven at a low setting to make it brittle, and I've even seen people put lemon or lime juice on the paper to make the paper spotted. I did that myself in gradeschool as a school project.

(try this on another piece of paper first), but soak it in tea or coffee (to give it that brown color of aged paper). While it (the paper) is wet, tear at the edges to make it look frayed. Maybe that would work.
