Look at this quote for what Caesar did to the citizens of Rome;

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar." (Julius Caesar)

Any similarities between te two???

I LOVE it that one of the answers above (the one who believes that voting Democratic supports bin Laden) feels that the support of Congress minimizes the impact of the correlation between Caesar and Bush... A bit of history would indicate that the Roman Senate ALSO overwhelmingly supported Caesar -- for exactly the same reasons Congress did several years ago; war is a political hot potato, and to not go along with the incessant drum beat opens one to accusations of "weakness." (No matter how incorrect, inane or misleading the war may be.)

Beautifully phrased statement...I miss my English Lit days. :)

Now, in the names of all the gods at once,
Upon what meat doth this our Caesar feed,
That he is grown so great? Age, thou art shamed!
Rome, thou hast lost the breed of noble bloods!
When went there by an age, since the great flood,
But it was famed with more than with one man?

Caesar was actually a competent military leader, Bush is not even close.

Well, if he is like any of the Caesars.. perhaps he will perish as did Nero... or end up as a salad... either way, hoe would be gone.. and the country would be better off.

Don't go comparing Bush to Julius Caeser. Ceaser never failed at everything he did.

Yeah, but Caesar did it on his own, not as a puppet of Mark Anthony.

Not really. From what I've read, Caesar had at least average intelligence
