Hi, I live in MD and just been to skyline drive. I wonder if there is anything fundamentally different between the skyline Dr. and the blue ridge that makes it worth a trip to the ridge? because going to the ridge meaning I have to first drive pass the skyline for approx. 1.5hr, thank you!!

I'm from right outside the skyline drive (Virginia).

I don't think there is a difference.
Skyline Dr. just denotes the road that leads through Blue Ridge Mtns. in the area.
