i currently run a public house and require loads more chairs and tables and have heard there are many that go to auction when pubs close etc, any ideas how i can find them in the yorks/humberside area?

I know the Scotch Corner Hotel, N Yorks holds hotel/restaurant clearance sales quite regularly so it might be worth contacting them. If they don't have one coming up soon they could maybe give you a contact. Ad mag sometimes advertises such events too, or local auction houses could perhaps set you in the right direction

look in your yellow pages. Stephensons auctioneers based at York livestock Centre, Murton, York have regular sales, another is a company called Summergills based in York and one in Beverley which has Dee, Atkinson and ? in the name - sorry i can't remember the rest of that one. Hope you find what your'e looking for, but if you don't then there is an amazing old mill over near Elland, Leeds owned by Andy Thorntons (they are one of the largest bar refurbishers in the world and work all over the globe) you will definately love that place!

Well look in yellow pages or similar, locate auctioneers, ask for their sales dates and details and prospecti to be sent to you...

the gazette tells you of local auctions, there is one aldbrough every month and hornsea floral hall, a local firm that does them is A1 auctioneers
