Free Agents for the Red Sox:
Mike Lowell
Mike Timlin
Eric Hinske
Doug Mirabelli
Bobby Kielty
Eric Gagne
Matt Clement
Lowell, I think everyone wants him to come back. Timlin, I think the Sox should go after him. He's a veteran pitcher who can help the younger guys, and is a pretty good reliever. Kielty is good off the bench, but I think he wants to play everyday. Mirabelli, I could live without, but they'll need to find another back-up catcher. Hinske, I don't really care. If they resign him, cool, if not, whatever. Clement and Gagne need to stay far away from Boston as possible.
What do you think?

Whoops, forgot about Coco. I don't think they'll need him. Ellsbury will be their starting center fielder, and if he can't do it, they can have Kielty take over, or they can both take turns playing centerfield

Definately agree about Gagne and Clement. I think bandwagon fans deserve their rings more than they do

I think you've got it all just about figured out. The Red Sox's first priority should be resigning their MVP, Mike Lowell! Mike Timlin should also be resigned. He's an OK reliever and he can share some of his knowledge with the younger players. Then again, he isn't a player the Red Sox need to break their backs trying to come up with a figure they both agree upon. If he wants something way too high, I would say let him go. If he wants something reasonable, by all means, keep him. Bobby Kielty did pretty well this past season, but not amazing, as did some of the other players! I agree with you that he would want to play every day, and I definitley don't see that happening. Doug Mirabelli & Eric Hinske I feel a little indifferent about, as well. If they want to come back, fine. If they don't, that's fine, too. I have a feeling Eric Gagne will be leaving, so we won't have to worry about him. As for Matt Clement...I think its his time to go. Gagne and Clement don't have much to offer the Red Sox at this point in time. And then there's Coco Crisp! I think Jacoby Ellsbury will be taking over his position since he has had such amazing fielding and he'll have some veterans to help him figure everything out. He really has such potential to be one of the greatest baseball players ever! That being said, I would still really hate to see Coco go.

Mike Lowell for sure...I will be pissed if the Sox don't re-sign him...Mike Timlin would be cool too since he is pretty good in the pen...Doug Mirabelli would be nice since it doesn't seem like anyone else can catch Wake like he can...Kielty and Hinske would be nice to have on the bench if they would be fine with that roll and wouldn't want too much cash...Gagne and Clement can go to the Yankees for all I care...Gagne should put his World Series ring on ebay because there are fans that are more deserving of the 2007 World Series ring than he is.

Why is Timlin so important. If he's good for coaching then make him a coach. We don't need anymore so-so relievers.I think they will be better off to spend that money elsewhere,as long as they don't spend it to pick up another GaGme!There are some good pitchers within the system coming up for a reliever.I agree about mirabelli,he is a catch 22 situation.I don't know but with Wake fields injuries it might be time to say good bye to him and Doug.I hope they get Lowell, but someone else will probably offer him more for Longer than the Sox will.I don't think Clement is worth it either ,he doesn't show that much either.

Lowell for sure! Timlin is still a good relif pitcher, so I think they should get him back. Eric Hiske isn't really worth re-signing. We should get Mirabelli back to catch Wake. Kielty doesn't need to come back. Don't want Gagne back. And Matt Clement has way to high of a salary for a guy who is always injured, so there is NO reason to re-sign him.

Lowell and Timlin. Kielty might be ok as a back up outfielder. Coco is not a free agent and is signed for next year but is being heavily shopped at the winter meetings in Orlando right now.

I agree that Clement and Gagne should be and will be gone, and the only reason to keep Mirabelli is if Wakefield stays. Other than that keep the rest dont mess with a good thing

Lowell and Mirabelli. Lowell's the heart and soul of that team. And, he's the world series MVP. Who wouldn't want to sign him? The Sox need to keep him. And Mirabelli's a decent and CHEAP back-up catcher. I can deal without the rest.

Lowell - Of course. There is no better 3rd baseman (yes, the best, including playoffs) on the Free Agents list right now.
Timlin - Good influence, would be nice to have around the young guys.
Hinske - Could care less
Mirabelli - As long as Wakefield is there in Boston, so is Mirabelli
Kielty - Wuold be nice to have, but if he wants to leave, let him.
The last 2 need to be gone. They just aren't the right fit for the Red Sox.
