OO, its pretty bad at my work!! Once the manager was bitching to another manager about one of the staff, but the staff they were bitching about was standing a few feet from them!! I saw this so i went in and kinda butted into the convo the managers were having, and changed the topic! I felt so sorry for the guy they were bitching about! He went bright red!

It's ridiculous. I thought I was at work, not at my high school. Some of the stories I've heard were just dumb. Gossiping is definitely a problem where I work -- and it's making my workload heavier because they're too busy talking to do their's!

I didn't realise how bad it was where I worked until I took on more hours, now I work on a much smaller department upstairs and it's no where near as bad as it was. Just the odd few, but pretty much everyone dislikes the manager.

Gossip at work is wonderful! It is also VERY detrimental to your career as it has a knack of finding it's way to the subject. It is SO hard to not be involved bit if you want to get ahead you must try to rise above it all. Keep at the back of your mind this piece of advice.
It's not what you know.
It's not who you know.
It's what you know about who you know.

gossip is horrendous where I work. Not so much with the management...but between associates. There are so many cliques and so many different groups of people... If you don't want something known...it's best to keep your mouth shut. But that's just my work ...

I am one of only maybe 4 male carers in a ward of around 50-60 staff! It is hell, women of a certain age really can't help themselves, it's as if they need to gossip/*****, if they don't tell somebody anybody their gossip then their head might explode, it makes me chuckle when i see a group of females at work whispering in a corner, like nobody knows whats going on. come on!!
