I am a 13 year old male, and I would like to shave my mustache. I dont think it's peach fuzz b/c its black and is very noticable(though it is soft and dark). I am afraid if i shave my mustache it will be messed up when I get older (as my mom says). She tells me it wont look as nice as it did before I shaved it. Is it true? What are the consequences of shaving?

"Well, it grows back thicker and darker" is a myth or wives tale or whatever else you want to call it. If you don't want hair wherever it is growing, remove it....by shaving, waxing, plucking, or hair removal creams/ foams. (But with shaving, you run the risk of razor burn...use a clean, sharp blade and replace when dull)

Mom knows best--NOT! Shave it off if you don't like the way it looks. Shaving it now won't mess anything up when you get older.
Furthermore, despite what other people tell you, it will not grow back thicker or darker because of shaving. If that were true, every bald guy in the world would shave his head instead of trying to grow hair with expensive products and procedures. That's just an old wive's tale.

Shaving and re growing DOESN'T change how it will look.
That is a natural process that would happen regardless.
Shave it! If you want face hair... fine. But at 13 it wouldn't look too cool. In my opinion!

The consequences are...looking better.
I would highly suggest it. You will probably have to shave it 3 times a week, but it will be totally worth it.

Your Mom is bs'ing you, son. The only consequences of shaving are that the more you shave, over time, the coarser and faster the hair grows back. That's it.

I personally don't like facial hair. However, your mom is right. Once you shave it, it will grow back thicker than it is now. You're only 13... enjoy your nice smooth skin while you have it! :)

DO NOT SHAVE!!! 1. looks cute on guys-sign of sexyness

once u start shaving, u will have to continue it often.......

the it-will-grow-back-thicker comment is a myth and it actually just comes in the same.
