David Duke or Robert Byrd?

Robert Byrd apologized and said he was wrong.
David Duke still has those beliefs and is proud of them.
In my mind, a current racist is worse than a former, reformed racist who has learned the errors of his former beliefs.

These men are both Southerners, Robert Byrd is considerably older than David Duke. That being said, I don't believe that you can erase the attitudes of a lifetime, just because you said that you did. Many people would like to believe that Robert Byrd has reformed himself, but I do not.
I would personally rather deal with someone who is honest about his prejudices than someone who has decided that he is reformed because it is politically expedient.
I don't think that either of these guys is someone I would invite to my home.
