No and in fact a couple of weeks before you deliver you will experience constipation and I swear that it is nature's way of teaching you how to push.

No, that's not true. Up to 80% of women have a bowel movement during pushing. Especially when the head is coming down. But, don't worry, the L&D nurse wipes, or washes it away before anyone knows it. U nless you have a mirrow to watch you won't even know. What is dangerous, is when the baby has a bowel movement befor it's born. Then the doctor has to be very careful to suction out the baby's mouth before it's first cry, to not inhale the sticky meconium.

No, that's a pretty big rumour. Your baby is all safe & protected in your uterus, no amount of pushing will push him/her out until water breaks and/or contractions start.
Trust me when I tell you in a few months, when you start experiencing the joy of slow bowel movements that comes with pregnancy, you'll be really pushing then and baby will be fine!

If you are in labor and pushing, yes you can have a bowel movement. But no, it won't harm the baby because the doctor or nurse who is there with you will clean it up immediately. Believe me, when I had my son I had a bowel movement on my doctor and I peed on him. It's not something you can help during the moment. And the medical staff is used to it. No big deal.

the baby cannot be harmed by pushing out a bowel movement.

Actually it is true...pushing too hard can harm the pregnancy especially in the first trimester. That is why Dr's tell you to make sure that you get a lot of fibre in your diet so that the stool is soft and you don't have to push too hard. Ask your Dr at your next appt.

never heard of that. But it could cause you to get hemmorriods. Eat more fiber or take a fiber suppliment to make bowel movements easier

I never heard that and frankly it's retarded because you have to have bowel movements and in order for them to come out you have to push unless you have diarreha.
