I have a full driving licence and have been insured before on a 125cc bike. Do I need to do another test on a motorbike to drive a bigger bike?

for bikes up to 125cc all you need to do is take a cbt test wich is around 80 quid .. if u go for anything higher than a 125cc u will have to go for a full bike licence

with a car licence u can ride a fifty with l plates.then u have to do cbt to ride up to 125 with l plates. you can take your test on a 125 to ride without l plates you are restricted to a 125 for 2 years then you can ride whatever size bike u like, however if u are 21 u can do direct access which is a course over about 3 or four days to pass test for any size bike. cbt only lasts two years hope this helps im doing direct access next year

If you're over 21 I think you may be able to ride a larger bike after a certain period of time. Otherwise you'll have to take the Direct Access Test. Look at the Driving Standards Agency site, should all be on there.
