And

The District Superintendent of the school system..... Dr. Sam McGowen (mcgowens@mascoutah19.k12...

If you too feel that Megan's detention unfair, email both giving your view of the unfairness of her detention.

the link does not work

but that is very stupid, why would you get detention for hugging your two mates? schools are getting ridiculous with all the policy's and rules they have in place

what will it be next? you may not go within 20 metres of another student!

The link is broken...but I think that it sounds like a weird thing to get detention for. The school must have had problems in te past and now maybe they have a non touching policy...in some large schools they have to protect themselves against getting sued if kids say they are sexually harrased. And when I was in high school in the 80s I would have had many complaints about boys grabbing me...if it was the norm to complain then.

Lunch detention SUCKS! i've got had it till now yet its not as undesirable as after college detention. In lunch detention, you omit approximately 30 minutes. And in after college it interferes with our very own time.

Its a stupid rule, but its not worth protesting in my opinion. If they had suspended or expelled her then I would protest. Really the parents of the child should just say, "ummmm no? shes not going to detention for that." at least thats what i would do.

I attend Mascouta Middle School right now, and I'm shocked about this rule. Infact, it is still a policy at school. ~ Yikes! But whatever, it's a policy...
