Manny and his arms
Sosa and his hop
A-Rod's long pause (500th jack)
Juniors lil skip (subtle but sweet)
Ortiz' fancy bat flip

I like the lil celebrations or whatever, as long as it isn't against my team. Your thoughts.

Hell yeah! More players should celebrate and make the game more interesting. Anything to spice it up has a green light from me!!! Who cares if it's against your team? Go back out there and use it as motivation to get back at them!!

Manny is the man and I dont think any other pose would do for him! I am a die hard Cleveland fan, raised in Cleveland. I watched Manny as he grew into an incredible player! I think this is the pose perfect for him because I would do the same pose everytime i heard that bat cracked and I knew he was sending it out. Manny is like The Rock of Major League Baseball. You gotta love this guy. I also love Sosa's signature hop and whatever you call that thing Catholics do lol. Junior's pose, what can i say that hasnt already been said. Ortiz's bat flip is humble yet confident, and for a guy that kills the ball like he does. I respect that pose. Homerun poses are what every kid back when i was a kid mocked and its an awesome part of the game. My favorite was not so much a homerun pose. Jim Thome would always raise his bat up pointing to the stands as if it were a threat. I always mocked Jim Thome whne i played baseball.

Any pose is disrespectful to the pitcher who gave up the home run and to the game itself. It is a trend that needs to stop....now! You actually forgot the worse offender of them all. Barry Bonds has shown up each and every pitcher he's ever hit a home run off of. I'm surprised that he hasn't been drilled more often than he has.

I look at the mentally challenged (Manny being Manny) and his antics and it makes me sick. I realize how uneducated he is when it comes to the game and it's traditions, and it just pisses me off to think that there are those who actually think he's some kind of role modal for kids.

With Sosa it's just a leap of enthusiasm I think. I don't think it's meant to be a pose.

The others you've mentioned I agree with you. Once upon a time when baseball was a real sport guys like Mickey Mantle, who was 10 times the player any of these guys are, would hit a home run, and with head down, race around the bases and sit down in the dugout. There was no curtain call. My God, when Roger Maris hit his 61st home run to break Babe Ruth's record, the crowd went crazy for the first ever curtain call. His teammates actually had to push him out of the dugout to acknowledge the crowd.

As a pitcher I would make every hitter who tried to show me up, pay!

Manny's celebrations are ridiculous. Throwing your hands up in the air, and standing the in the box when your team is losing is obnoxious. If he keeps this up, some pitcher with a short fuse is gonna take it the wrong way and bean him right in the head.

However hitting a walk-off home run does deserve a little pose. You just won the game! Celebrate

A lot classier than what you see in football. A guy sacks the quarterback and dances as if he won the super bowl. Then the next play the offense gets a first down and the sack becomes just a meaningless statistic. At least with a home run, the runs are on the scoreboard and not going away. So I don't mind a little celebration... even from someone I personally don't like, like Bonds.

Manny's is a little over the top. I mean A-Rods was a memorable moment, and Ortiz's celebration isn't that bad. But Manny's is just stupid sometimes. Overall in my opinion, it depends how important the home run is and how conceded the poses can be.

Obviously... if i hit a home run I'd do the same thing... in my home or on the road... It's all part of the show...

If you don't like it and your team isn't in the game then throw at them the next time there up... then maybe they will get it through there head how much you appreciate it...

I mean yeah I don't agree at throwing at players intentionally but if they wanna walk in your home and show off... then they deserve to get thrown at...

its all part of the show though u know that man...

Espically Manny... "Manny being Manny"

It all depends. I saw Manny do it once when the Red Sox were getting there butts kicked and that just makes him look stupid. Its funny to me when they do it and it isnt even a home run and they get stuck w/ a long single. (Sosa) When its a game winning home run I think its fine but Im not sure if the pitchers do.

I hate them! I would love to see them try that against Bob Gibson in his prime; they would have been eating dust.
A celebration is spontaneous. Kirby Puckett throwing his arms up in the air as he quickly circled the bases in game six of the 91 WS was a celebration. A pose is calculated showboating.
Hate hate hate it!

I don't like showboating. I think it's hysterical when one of these oafs goes into his "home run" pose and the ball bounces off the wall and they have to scramble to get to first.
I wonder how it would go over if the pitcher did a little dance on the mound when one of these hot dogs went down swinging?

If I was a pitcher and some guy hit the ball like 400 feet off me I would give him props. I would be like "damn, you got me, nice shot." next time I would throw at his head but it would still be cool. I pitched some in little league baseball and I would hit my friends all the time, right in the back.
