No, I don't. As someone who was outsourced once, I do not appreciate it at all.

Here's the short answer. YES.
Here's why. There are people in other countries who would REALLY like to have half of what the average worker in this country has. Where a worker here would like to have a larger house, new car, longer vacation, etc. There are people in other countries who would like a roof that doesn't leak, more food for their family, and maybe just cleaner water.
Does the worker here deserve enough pay to afford a bigger house when someone has a leaky roof? Do they deserve a new car when a worker in another country can't even afford gas for a car?
Are you getting my point?
And then there is the economics of business. When labor is the biggest cost factor, how are you going to compete with some company who can have labor cost for the same product that is half what your's is?
Are you going to show how moral you are by going out of business because it is impossible for you to compete?
How moral is it for you to accept $20 an hour for doing something someone else will do for $10 or less an hour?

moral if like you said it isnt lioke sweatshop slave labor- 80 weeks no OT no weekends -in other words if the 2 are on the same playing field and both countries give workers the same rights -that is why these global treaties need to be renegotiated so that the people they are purporting to help lift from poverty actually are not just filling the pockets of the owners of the companies in 2 different countries-homer you talking about walmart as an example is pretty much shooting yourself in the foot

That is not a question of moral. Americans do not want to pay much for anything. Just look at how successful Walmart is. For that reason a business must control costs. Paying outrages wages for a job that can be done in another country is keeping the prices low for you. Do not be fooled by the small wages earned in other countries. We are creating jobs in some countries where unemployment is 50%. This increases the houshold income of those families. They are making more now then before. Don't fret over workers in this country. Change happens. I ask you where are all the buggy whip manufacturers? Those people moved on to other jobs.

I won't address the morality of outsourcing, but it's bankrupting the US and lowering the standard of living for Americans. I was outsourced once also.
I agree with troublemaker. There should be an import tariff placed on all manufactured products. Our National Debt is increasing 1.4 billion dollars per day. Don't tell me about Smoot Hauley destroying the country. We have a deep deficit and debt which must be addressed.

I'm still upset that the Giants played the Dolphins in London. Talk about out sourcing. One stadium or the other lost a lot of revenue that day, as did their employees.
We need to stop giving away American jobs.

It is not a moral question at all. It is a business question, albeit one with affects beyond the bottom line of the balance sheet.
Those that outsource successfully - (saving costs and improving service without too much backlash for displaced workers) have nothing to apologize for. Those that do it badly will take their lumps.

Bring the jobs home to Americans .
I want a import tax on all products entering our borders . If it is not made hear tax the hell out of it . Tax incomes above 10,000,000 ----90% No one is worth more then that and its theft from workers that should be earning more is all .

It is absolutely moral.
You need to pay attention to the puchasing power of money overseas. Someone making 50k here would be poor compared to someone making 20k in India.
The reason outsourcing works is not neccessarily that people are willing to work forl ess overseas, but that our economies have different costs of living and purchasing power (even though purchasing power is supposed to be equal theoretically).
As for the worker who lost his job, he can get a new job. Outsourcing creates better paying jobs for Americans and lower prices for goods. It is a net gain.

Morals and ethics play a very small role in business. The role of the CEO is to maximize profits while controlling risk. As long as the company is following legal guidelines set by our government then their actions are deemed legal and therefore moral.

No, but doing what we are doing to cause the outsourcing might be. Stop making it impossible to compete using American labor and the outsourcing will stop.
