I am moving the end of the year to CA so its about a 2000 mile drive and I have 5 goldfish that have been with me forever and I want to bring them with so bad. People have told me the stress and the heat/cold will be to much for them.
Is there anyway to move them safely without putting to much stress on them and so they wont die on me??

Go to a fish shop, get some fairly large plastic fish bags,a Styrofoam shipping box,and some good advice on packing fish for travel. Bag your fish last thing before leaving and drive straight through. Also it would be smart to have a cycled aquarium waiting on the other end. Adding the stress of living in an un-cycled aquarium while the necessary bacteria grow their colonies will add another couple of months to the stress of the initial move. I'm not saying you can't do it,but it will require a lot of your time to pull it off.

Ok, I whent on a road trip one time and I brought my goldfish along. What we did was keep them in a small tank in the trunck of our car cussiond by blankets and luggage. They made it safely and lived too! Just make sure to be smooth while driving because water will spill out a little... Good luck!
