Everytime i hear someone ask about it, people say they hope not.
but they never say why.
I personally loved all 3.
and yes there wil be a 4.
The cast said in a article that after doing 2 and 3 back to back they wanted to take a break before filming part 4. there is no set production date.

I love all 3 as well, but it's just that the thought of 4 after such a mind blowing end to 3 worries me. Where to go with Will? There's no place, and that's upsetting because he's important. Elizabeth too. So I just keep wondering. Maybe it'll be good!

I don't know where everyone is getting there info from, but there WILL NOT be a POTC 4, at least not with any of the same characters or the producer. Jerry Bruckheimer, the guy in charge of the franchise said it was designed as a trilogy and there will be no further movies with the characters. It was on a live CNN telecast about 3 months ago. He did say that if there were another POTC he would not be involved, nor would Depp, Bloom or Knightly. So he said it would have to be a prequal before Depps characters time, or movie set later in the timeline with the children.

Bruckheimer, Verbinski, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio (writers) and Johnny Depp have all said they'd be willing to go on for maybe even another Pirates trilogy. Bloom and Knightley - no.
I too loved all 3 of the movies and would love to see CAPTAIN Jack in further adventures w/some worthy adversaries and, dare I say it, a good juicy romance - more than just the town doxies, none of whom seem to have good memories of him.

The main reason is merely the curse of the sequel.
In general, sequels are not created to tell an ongoing story, but to make money. There are many examples to prove both sides,
Now, I guess the reason for the "fear" is just the fear of sequel overload.

Affraid it will be Disney-pixar animated pic. not a live action film... tow contracts were extended for such a film?
Johhny Depp and Orlando Bloom...Kiera Knightley ???? as to a fourth...and maybe fifth movie in franchise...

plus part 3 i believe was base on OBEAH and witchcraft. so i guess part 4 is going to be even worst.

4th is to be a prequel............ how he got the Pearl & such so NO Orlando Bloom, NO Keira Knightly.
