I understand that some lawyers are prosecutors for many indefinably, guilty people, but aren't they doing their job to support someone's fourth and fifth amendment? I suppose I'm just confused. Hope someone can help. Thank you.

Lawyers are just people who have been taught to view facts a certain way, and to see how facts interact to create issues, and how those issues are addressed by the structure of the laws of our country, both statute and judge-created precedent.
Most people, without that legal training, don't see the world as lawyers do, and so they may feel at a disadvantage. Combined with the fact that the opposing side's lawyer can use the law against you, and the fact that the law is a relatively lucrative career, and you have the basis for fear and jealousy. So naturally, jokes are the result, since it is human nature to disparage what we fear and mock what we envy.

Wow - wait till you are innocent and one proves you are guilty, or, your attacker is proved innocent whilst you have to live with the scars.
There is the famous story about the lawyer who said "I demand justice for my client" to which the judge replied "Justice does not belong here this is a court of law"!!!
Lawyers will say anything to get a win at any cost. and the cost is frequently the truth!!!!! They also charge some of the highest fees and expenses in the world!!!!!

Because we aren't supposed to tell racial or sexist jokes anymore (especially in the workplace), and blondes have gotten upset about the "dumb" stereotype, but somebody's got to be the butt of the jokes. What good is life, without humor?

Lawyers are seen as exploiters, manipulators and people who use the 'letter' of the law to avoid the 'intent' of the law. YES their job is to represent their clients, but the lengths they go to in order to 'get their clients off', the trickery they use, the dishonesty with which they approach their task speaks more to their OWN ambition than it does to their responsibility towards justice and fairness. Their willingness to represent clients in frivolous lawsuits for monetary gain is another reason they are less than respected.

because absolutely everything and anything is up for grabs as fas as humor goes. it just depends on who finds it funny. why do you think there are blond, fat, and racial jokes? because someone has and always will find these things funny. whether or not these jokes are truly funny(in the mainstream humor kind of way) is debatable but nonetheless there are lawyer jokes out there because someone will find them funny. oh yea and freedom of speech. at least in America anyways....
