You can. Most of the community colleges in NY state offer a program where they will admit a student without a GED and assign them a certain sequence of classes, 24 credits worth. If the student completes those classes satisfactorily, they get a GED, and the classes still apply toward their associate degree.
She can talk to admissions at her local cc for details.

Yes you can. You can always take classes in a state school without a GED. I am currently doing it. I've taken psych 101, algebra, and English 1. I dropped out of HS to be a rock star, and obviously it didn't happen. I haven't gotten my GED yet because I'm a bit afraid of the math section. I wanted to take a few math courses first. You can take as many classes as you want, but you can't get your degree without your GED.

If you are a drop out them you must get your GED first. Where I live, if you stay in high school and have good grades you can go to the community college here at the same time though.

Every college I know requires graduation from high school first and some places may not accept a GED

My youngest daughter is taking GED and medical classes at the same time at our Community college. She got into a lot of trouble in high school...so this is best in her case.

It may be true with some colleges.
I do know they will help you get your GED but they will test you first on your knowledge first either way.
If you call the community colleges you can maybe ask them that as I am sure differant colleges, are differant in differant areas.

Nope, you have to do the 2 seperately. But college spring semester doesn't start until mid January, but she can get her GED before then.

she will definitely need her GED but if she were in high school still she could take dual enrollment and they will let her take some college courses at the same time as attending high school
