Cavemen still do not believe we can produce landscapes.
Thought it was no longer an issues until I learned they're alive.

We can and we are. The earth has warmed and cooled many times before man existed and before the industrial revolution for all kinds of reasons. That in no way cancels the effect of what is happening now. What we now know is that the greenhouse gasses that human activity is adding to the atmosphere is accumulating and warming the planet. That fact is not disputed.

True, the earth does go through cycles of warming and cooling. The problem is, never before have the changes occurred in such a short period of time. My husband is an environmental scientist and he believes (along with the majority of scientists) that the RATE at which the planet's climate is changing is what is alarming.
Whether it's just a cyclic change or man-made, we all know we can do things to help keep our planet healthier. How anyone can argue with that seems odd to me.

Well, just for starters, about 200 of the world's most esteemed scientists believe that human intervention is the number one contributor to global warming. Second, world history has proved nothing regarding the current climate conditions of the planet.

The overwhelming majority of climate scientists.

Your NASA comment is so patently absurd that it confirms ‘lying’ to be a Bush family trait. James Hansen of NASA was the first and most adamant climate scientist arguing for anthropogenic based global warming.

He never wavered even while the rest of us were telling him that the data were inconclusive. Over the years, more and more scientists (collecting and analyzing more and more data) came to side with Hansen. I happen to have been one of the last scientists (and THE last in my particular laboratory) to accept the hypothesis after being steam-rolled by the vast and unequivocal data that was obvious to all by the mid-late 1990s.

You are wrong and, in any case, you should not be talking authoritatively about something that you obviously know nothing about.

And for those that gave my simple statement of fact thumbs down - well, you have just demonstrated that you are not only scientifically illiterate, but that you really are not interested in the truth.

LOL, I love it. You hit the nail on the head. Mother Nature doesn't like people taking credit for her work. She will have a retribution for those who try. Nothing can be done to change what Mom has in store for the weather.

The Earth moves about one inch closer to the Sun every year and in a few thousand (if not million) years, it's going to get hotter then when the Earth moves away from the Sun at the rate of one inch per year it's going to get colder thus another Ice Age.

I remember the VERY FIRST "Earth Day." I was a kid in school, and we planted "Crown Vetch" on the hillside to prevent soil erosion. WHOOPEEE!!

I cannot remember any discussions as to global warming or cooling at that time, it was just a way of "celebrating" the earth.

However.... when I was in High School (1970's) I remember the FEAR that was being struck in the media that the earth was COOLING and we were on the verge of a next ICE AGE!

Now... we're on the verge of melting down? But we haven't frozen up yet!

Well... I know that Algore believes, but he does nothing about it. At least Ed Beagly, Jr. LIVES by his word!!

Have a right-wing day.

PLANTS have changed the worlds climate

billions of small reactions over large expanses of time tend to introduce change.

....sorry, that's what's called a fact

we've visited the moon, harnessed the power of the sun and sent probes beyond our solar system, I'd say it's possible, yes

Only people that don't have all of the facts believe it.

People will start burning tires if it gets too cold again this year.

There were faster changes in temperature in the past. And NASA says it was due to changes in the sun.
