we want to stay a night in a beach around SF, bay area. what is the best choice? it should be close to water.
(I'm looking for someone who's a turist!)

Hi,
I've been in the San Francisco area all my life and I like to travel along the coast and spend the night in various locations. The best location in San Francisco would be Days in at the Beach. This is the best kept secret in SF.
For the best location close to San Francisco I would recommend Rockaway Beach in Pacifica, the Sea Breeze Motel with great views of the Pacific Ocean.
Next would be Moss Beach another location close to the ocean, however, there is no on the beach motel, you would have to look into the Hostel.
Next spot would be Princeton By The Sea, Harbor View Inn or Cypress Inn on Miramar Beach. Anyone of these spots will be fun for the night.

Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, Stinson Beach, all good locations with lots of hotel/motel options!

It would be very windy and cold, why don't pay $20 for a hostel bed near beach with good view.
