I live here and here are some negative things. Traffic is horrible. The roads here are not laid out well. People are not sociable that live here. High price of housing. School system is terrible.

Some good things ... low taxes, 24/7 stores, lots of energy, local casino give a ways, food is cheap, lots of job opportunities, always something to do and the weather ( sun shines 365 days a year)

If you take a visit to Las Vegas you'll see why.

Las Vegas appeals to more than just adults 18+. I'm still an adolescent but when I went with my family there was plenty of things to do there. I was still stunned by all the fabulous, bright and gorgeous hotels along the strip. They keep them well looking like brand new. Theres also malls, shops, theme park rides, fountains, stores, food, and especially the casinos.

The only unappealing things are the people who have become under the influence. They get a bit rowdy and uncomfortable sometimes. Also, along the strip theres trucks that pull signs of half nude woman on the pickup. They get entertaining first but becomes a total annoyance after a day.

The casinos aren't just casinos, they're malls, restaurants, swimming pools, theme parks, theatres, everything you can think of. They're all themed and everything is according to the theme inside, from the furnitures to the clothes of the people who work there. People like a little gaming. There are shows even on the street. There are lights. It's in the middle of the desert. Things are cheap. In a word, it's a 24 hour party. I'm Portuguese, so I only went there once but these were my main impressions.

I visit Vegas every few years. Why it appeals to me, is that fact that it is so unlike where I live. I love the sites, sounds, food, shows and just the excitement of Vegas. I was just there a couple of weeks ago, and was able to walk around at 3 in the morning and just take in the atmosphere.

Granted, some things that don't appeal to me is the guys that slap the "escort" cards into your hands and the time share sellers are getting as annoying.

I hope this helps you in your research.

It's clean, bright, and shiny. There are fun things to do and shows to watch. It's very expensive and there aren't enough cheap restaurants. Sometimes it's hard to find stuff.
