this is my first time playin this. my friends are on, with a dwarf hunter, undead warlock(or mage idk), and i dont know but i wanted a night elf warrior or paladin or a human warrior/warlock. any other suggestions? all help is welcome. thnx

You should give them all a try because you might not like some of them. However, if you have a hunter (ranged) and a warlock or mage (also ranged), you may want to go with someone who can tank, in other words, handle melee combat. That way, you can take charge of doing all the up close damage and keep the mobs away from your friend while they shoot from afar. However, hunters and warlocks both have pets, so the pets can do the tanking and you could engage in fighting from a distance as well.
And if one friend is a dwarf (an Alliance race) and the other is undead (a Horde race), those two friends can never play together. Night elves and humans are Alliance, so you could only play with your dwarf friend. Might want to keep that in mind.
I don't think the warrior is a bad class to play; I have a level 60 warrior, and I think she's a lot of fun. Paladins are a cross between a warrior (mail and plate armor, tanking abilities) and a priest (can heal). The healing might help your group. I find paladins have a higher learning curve, as you need to know all of your blessings, auras, and seals - and there are a lot.
Pick something that looks interesting to you. Try it out for a few levels (but realize that it gets a lot more fun the longer you play - so play at least to level 10), and if it doesn't suit you, roll a new class. When you find one you really like, the game will be a lot more fun.

I suggest human paladin or dwarf paladin since night elves cannot be paladins. Also because if you are a paladin you will be able to tank and heal yourself and your teammates. Also the alliance and the horde cannot play together, they even scramble your typing so you can't talk to each other.

Don't listen to #1. Warriors are a great and useful class. Every class depends on your playstyle. Trying playing each one a bit, or you can go to worldofwarcraft.com and research the different aspects of each class.
Don't let someone tell you what to play and just have fun!!!!

choose whatever race you fell comfatable with but DONT be a warrior they are like the worst class and id advise to get expansion pack AWSOME
