I think they cannot take my heat as competition. What ever simpleton remark anyone makes I will shove it ritght back in their face. Be nice to me and I will be nicer. Be bad to me and I will be badder.

You do seem to hold yourself in quite high regard - perhaps that comes across to other people in the wrong way, so it's less a case of 'getting over yourself' as having some consideration for other people's thoughts and beliefs?

Not everything has to be a confrontation, and the whole 'if you're not with me, you're against me' schtick is pretty short-sighted.

Just a thought.

Badder? Nice one. I'd imagine with the threat of "shoving it back in their face" this question will soon be deleted. You worded your question very poorly and I have to guess at what you mean, you "simpleton" but if what you mean is that people get upset when you boast when you win like a bully then you should get over it, no one likes stuck up people.

Watch this everyone, she's going to respond to my answer, and it will sound even dumber than her original question!

"Getting over oneself" means to quit thinking of yourself more highly than you ought. Usually people who can't get over themselves are always told to, but never "get it" they think the rest of the world is crazy and idiotic, but they don't realize how socially awkward and inept they are.

People who always think they are smarter or better than someone else, hence calling someone an idiot or worse because they don't think like you, typically aren't liked by people with sensibility. These are the type of people that cut you off in traffic get in an accident and even though all witnesses, including the person in the passenger seat in their car, says its their fault, they don't get it and everyone but them is an idiot. Or the type of people who always say something rude and when people playfully or seriously let them know, its over their head they don't get it and you can tell they don't even think about it. Or the type of person who is never wrong, and always sees an opposing view as an invitation to insult and not back down. They don't understand humility. They lack sensibility--the ability to sense how and when to say something good or bad. I have a couple friends like this, honestly, I can only hang with them for a limited amount of time, they are too arrogant to stay around for long. It's called hubris. If a person is truly intelligent they will strive to avoid this type of mentality. We shouldn't care what people say in matters of standing up for a good cause but when standing up for a pointless or bad cause a consensus shows you who you truly are. Look at the responses you get. If you react negatively and just tell yourself, "they don't know what they are talking about" or something along those lines then you aren't getting over yourself. You are your own obstacle and don't even know it. Usually a person that has this problem would write a question like this then not listen to anyone's advice because they already formed an opinion--they are stuck on themselves. Good Luck!!

p.s. you might not want to be so conditional of how you treat people. Let things go sometimes, be above reproach and above treating someone like garbage because they treat you like garbage--its kinda immature. And badder isn't a word by the way.

Uh, you sound a little bitter mixed with insecure. Why does it upset you so much that someone said that to you? If you were really happy with who you were, it wouldn't matter what anyone said to you, because you would know your true self. None of this badder crap.

No, for certain, you don't have to.

But if you hear more than one person making that suggestion, it might be time to take a look at your behavior, to be sure that you're not doing something you wouldn't want to do. I have figured out for my self that if more than one person in any given day is a jerk to me, that maybe it's actually coming from my side...

If one person calls you a horse, it's probably about him.

If everybody calls you a horse, you better check your back for the saddle.

When there is no legal or amicable way to solve a situation, you have to get over it, yourself.

Not only do you not have to "get over yourself" you are not required to "have a nice day" either.
