Ashton : Meaning: Settlement in the ash-tree grove. Maybe you would like to go to www.babynamesworld.com and check out some different names. Perhaps come up with something that isn't a famous person right now so that when he is growing up, he won't have the same name as 10 other kids in his class.

Sounds too soap-opera-y. Also, I knew a gay guy named Steve that changed his name to Ashton. Not that there is anything wrong with gay people, but every since then I've always seen it as a "gay" name.
