Just like a few of the other people who answered your question, I also have caller ID and usually check it first before answering the call. It's a pretty handy addition to my phone services as well, since its only 5 bux or so. :) I sometimes do let the machine answer it as well... especially if someone calls WAY too early in the morning. LOL

No!!! Especially when telemarketers are calling and i don't want to talk to them!!! I get lazy too when i am on yahoo answers and i don't want to get up, so i let the answering machine pick up!! If i am waiting for an important phone call i will answer it tho!!

All of my landlines phones have the ringers turned off.
The answering machine is on, however, the volume is down to zero.
Since I have dial-up, and I am online most of the day when I am at home, anyone dialing my landline receive a busy signal.
I have my cell, however, I check the caller ID to see who is calling.

depends---caller ID is awesome, but sometimes I am too flipping lazy to even deal with that...
am I napping/ Am I bored/ If I'm bored I'll talk to a salesperson, close the deal, then say I need to go get my credit card, and leave the phone off the hook. I am NOT a nice person.

I usually let someone else answer it....and if there is no one else around, the answering machine will usually be on....and the machine gets it after 3 rings.

Not always - sometimes I screen my calls. Other times, I'm just not in the mood to answer / talk on the phone... like when I'm in the bathroom & my cell phone rings.

I almost always answer the phone. I don't have caller ID, so I don't really know who it is.
Sometimes, when it's a tele-marketer, I just put the phone down in the middle of the call and wait for them to finish talking. Then they start going "Hello? Hello? Hello?!" It's really fun.

I never answer my house phone only my cell phone.. Theres a guy that I used to be friends with that always tried to clal my house so i never answer it. I found out he molested his 6 year old sister multiple times so I will never talk to him again. I dont have caller ID so thats why I never answer my house lol. but i do always answer my cell.

Here at work, answer it. I don't have a choice.
Home? Look at the caller ID. Then decide if I want to talk to that person or not. If it's important, they'll leave a message.

at the house never that is why I have an answering machine, as for the cell, only if it someone I want to talk to.
