I've always had a dream to travel the world freely for a couple months at a time by myself and meet new people and see new places.

I'm in a good position as far as being single with no obligations or too many financial obligations right now to do it.

However, I would need to quit my job to do it and I really, really like my job. I would basically come back broke and have to start over. I may not ever get a job as good as this one again.

How do people afford to travel around everywhere financially?

I don't want to be one of those people that says "Maybe someday". Before it's too late.

Why would you need to quit your job?
Talk with your boss and see if he is willing to let you take longer holidays each second year, you may not have any holiday in the in-between years, but that is worth it.

I travel 3 to 6 weeks each time, I am lucky, my boss allows me to take normal holidays in the in-between years.

By having shorter trips you can spend your money more freely, but still you will not get broke.

Of course it is also my dream to travel with as much money and time as I would like, but I have not won the lotery (yet).
Till I do, I take whatever travel I can get, and all together is more than a 2 years, (much more I would guess,) spread over 20 years. Not too bad.

And the good thing about shorter travels, you remember better what you have seen. On a longer travel you tend to forget many details.

My Dad, my Mom, my brother, my sister and I travel for a living. We also have a couple that travel with us. We are an evangelistic team. The couple that travel with us do the music. I am 12 yrs, my sister Allie is 13, my brother Drew is 16. I can't really imagine not traveling. It gets tiring after a while but I really love it. In your situation though its different. I really want to be in the military but I have to realize I'm too young. You want to travel but you have to realize that you can't quit your job. If you wait a little longer than you might be able to find another job. A better job. You could find a job that permits you to travel
. You could also work out a time of year every year that you travel somewhere new. If I were you, I'd consult the Bible. It is a Historical Document but it offers allot of advice.

well even ive got the same dream.. the only thing that is stopping me is money.. i dont have it enough..
frankly.. it would be really silly of you if continue working and living a normal life...

well leave this job in a very sophisticated manner.. so that when you return.. they should take you back...

where money is concerend.. well.. invest a bit somewhere.. like renting out a flat.. or some business .. etc... so that when you come back.. you already have your steady income in your hand.

good luck.. and live your dreams !..
