I feel like WWIII and a draft is getting ready to start.

Edit: Liking us is one thing and thats all fine and good. Sure I love good French wine as good as the next person and France is a beautiful country. We need more friends. This is not exactly about being friendly, this is about gaining allies against Iran. Sarkosy has stated now that France cannot and will not tolerate a nuclear Iran and no matter how you feel about Iran with nukes you can see what is getting ready to transpire here.
Declaring war on Iran with our new friends.
If this situation does transpire we COULD very well see WWIII take place in the middle east and it will more than likely be the bloodiest war this world has ever seen. Is this what we want?

Time will tell. France has been 'our friend', several times in the past and later fell out of love with the Americans way of thinking.
I do remember the French Country side, small towns, and Beautiful People during the 1950's, and YES, I REMEMBER BRIGITTE BORDEAUX !!!! Now there was a very good reason to drive 400 to 500 miles each way, just to watch her act out a scene while making a movie !!!!
Makes me wish I could go back 50 years to better appreciate the culture, people, food, wine, country side, and youthful extravagances.
Maybe the French - American relationship will last for many, many years.

I think it's a very positive step and I wonder why anyone would denigrate it by calling Sarkosy President Bush's poodle.

I just can't tell you how happy I got when I learned of Sarkozy's election. I can drink French Wine and Brandy Again. I can eat Escargots, Roquefort, and go live in Paris again. But I still like calling them "Freedom Fries" or "pommes frites" when in Germany.

Kinda strange to watch the same people who insisted we have better relations with foreign countries, especially Europe and the spin reasons why when the President does it is something other than good. Truth is we finally have reason to bridge with France like no other time in history, they elected him knowing his relationship with the US and I for one believe they (the citizens of France) want better relations and are glad Jock the Rock is gone.

He is not really democratic, a rightwinger and
media-juggler. A few weeks ago we predicted
here, that we will soon hear of him sliming in.
