OK.. My husband has been separated from his ex for 4 years and had been divorced for about a year. He has ALWAYS suspected that his son of 6 wasnt his. He is now thinking about geting a DNA test done. He says no matter what the test says he will always love his son like he was his own. But after the test comes back and if the boy isnt his, his parental rights are terminated...right? What should we do?

" sometimes you just leave well enough alone"

Better to just assume he is the father, and enjoy being with his son....

DON'T take that test this late in the game! It will only possibly lose his son for him and if his parental rights aren't terminated he may lose his son anyway, psychologically speaking. His son is too old for him to do it now. Either way it turns out, he could scar his son for life, thinking that his dad doesn't love him!

His ex should continue to let them have a relationship. It's only right for the child.

If he'll always treat him as his own, then why go through the pain of finding out otherwise? It would hurt him and his "son"...let sleeping dogs lie.

If there did not exist a DNA Test, what would you two do?...there's your answer. I personally would not have the test performed. Good juck.
