What are these people thinking?

Question

I am 24 years old, and I work doing therapy with adolescents. Because of my background, I decided to check out what kind of advice these teens were getting. I can't believe some of the things these people are saying to them! I am outraged. If you have nothing productive to say to these teens who feel like they are going through terrible difficulties, then just don't post. No one deserves these snide put downs, especially those struggling through such a difficult time in their lives. And for those of you who have productive things to say, I'm saying thank you, on behalf of those you've assisted.

i completely agree with you! it makes me sick some of the mean comments and inaccurate information people give teens on here. yes, some of them might be fake questions but on the off chance that it really IS a 14 year old who is pregnant, people should either not answer or try to help.

you need to be more specific on what the question posted was in order for these kids to get a 'snide' comment in return.
alot of the rude comments are coming from other young children, who are not past the maturity level of just that, a child, therefor find it necessary to be mean and cruel. Kids will be kids and there are very few who know how to give the proper support to someone who themselves, truly believe, have the worst situation in the world cause there friend is snickering behind their back. Im sure you remember how it was to be a young teen, and now that we have grown up and out, we can read some of their post and think how silly it sounds but give support and proper advice. other young teens, have not had the same life experience as us, therefore the only way they know how to answer, is to be a smart as s. its a forum for the public, and im sure these same rude kids would not give the same rude comment to someones face

Most of the ones on here that get the snide remarks are the ones that are trolls and not asking real questions. All someone has to do is go to their profile and see the other questions that they have asked. Someone will ask the same question 4-5 times or more, but change info in the question each time, like ages, the sex of the person they are talking about, etc.

ok um have you read these questions? youre obviously a little gullible. half of the questions posted here are fake! 12 and 13 year old pregnant? ok maybe a small percent but not every f*cking teen on y!a. you may have a career in therapy but you arent a teen. this is a section for TEENS to ask TEENS about THEIR OPINION. you can't tell people what and what not to do so in a nice way...possibly mind your business and not what other people are saying?

More then likely it is actually Teens giving Teens advice. Not so smooth a concept, but it has become the norm.

i do try to help people the best i can because i always try to treat people the way i would like to be treated.and i know how it feels to be in a terrible situation.but i do agree with you some people on here are very rude and are no help at all.

Struggling through such a difficult time in their lives?
I'm sorry but theres nothing "Difficult" about being a teenager, you go to school and maybe have a job...ooo so hard. Yeah SOME get made fun of or are bullied or get pregnant. but I'd have to say the majority don't get bullied and the ones who get pregnant are idiots and they kind of deserve it. (although the babies who come out of it don't)
This is coming from a "teenager" I suppose.
