Don't they realize that by remaining silent, they're condoning the belief that all women have um... smelly, itchy problems?

Well, there are a lot of commercials and ads that are embarrassing for many people. Erectile disfunction, urinary accidents, and even adult diapers are a few of the bad ads out there.

Just because there are products for women's hygiene doesn't mean all women stink or need the product, but some do.

I agree that no one should be ashamed of their bodies, but some people do need odor control, diapers, or assistance with an erection.

Maybe a better position would be to help women understand and love their bodies more. And you could tell men their taint stinks too.

The world is ending...I agree with Arlo. Most commercials are unrealistic but tampon and pad ads take it to a whole new level. The reality of the situation, however, would never sell anything. Nobody wants to hear 'With Playtex, your period will still be the worst three to five days of your month, but you'll be less likely to leak'. People buy the fantasy that they'll be dancing on a beach in white spandex and throwing flowers petals. Ssidenote: When I was younger, the blue liquid confused the hell out of me. I was so sure it was going to be blue and that excited me a little.

Tampax tampons was invented by a male gynaecologist because thought menstruation was unclean.
Most women who use Tampax tampons don't really good about being women and think men are better than women.
O.B. tampons is the first and only tampons without an applicator and they were invented by a female gynaecologist.
As a woman, she knows all women are completely different internally which means the tampon will expand based on her vaginal wall pattern.
I hate it when some men scorn me and other women for still using maxi pads.
If these men think mentruation is disgusting and think women who are on it are gross, then they shouldn`t get involved with them because the women's vaginas these men stick their penises into are the same vaginas menstruation comes out of.
Also, if women didn't have menstraution then the human race would end.

Well, some do have itchy smelly problems. All of us know "NOT" all woman have those problems. Just a few. I see ads for aspirin but not all people have head aches. Most ladies are like the roses of Paris. Fresh and Pretty.

I'm afraid I don't see your point. That's like saying they shouldn't advertise products for athletes foot. Or herpes. Or anything else, because then they're saying that ALL people have them, which is obviously not true. The ads are directed at the people with those problems.

If the ads bother you so much, why don't you rise up against them? At one time or another in a woman's life, she will have female problems that need to be taken care of.

Ha! When I was a teen, and watching t.v. with the guy friend, I'd cringe when those ads came on! And for you ladies old enough, remember the gymnast wearing the skin tight outfit supposedly wearing a maxi pad? When I first had a period, back in the "Stone Age", we had to wear these stupid belts and gigantic pads! Us girls would constantly be asking each other, "Can you tell?".

I don't have a problem with those adds, and believe it or not some women wouldn't even know the products existed if they weren't on TV.

My real problem is that these products are not necessary, and cause more problems than they solve. They contain icky deodorants and chemicals that cause yeast infections and UTI's. Just clean with a gentle, mild soap regularly and you'll smell fine.
