Your felony is on for life unless you get a lawyer and get it off your record then that depends on the state and the judge. As for getting into Canada its a long shot getting in you may need to drive they usual only look for recent convictions but even then they can say no as for flying in its going to be harder if not impossiable to get in they do a really good background check. I'd call and ask Canda customs maybe they have exceptions.

A Felony stays on your record forever, unless you take action to have it expunged. Whether or not you CAN have it expunged depends on your State.

Canada does not generally admit people with felony convictions. Having said that, if you 'drive' into Canada, they generally only check for outstanding warrants and for DUI convictions. If you fly in, the checks are more thorough.

I believe felonies are a permanent part of your record.
