"GOD" is a fictitious character to who, we are meant to believe in.
Some of us choose not to believe in; because there is no real sighting of or has been a real sighting of this "god" character. Hence why we have religion and bibles and so many other differential **** trying to manipulate us!
what is the universe?
The Universe is defined as the summation of all particles and energy that exist and the space-time in which all events occur.
Where does it end & start?
There is no beginning or ending to the universe. It could have been created long before the time of the cavemen or the dinosaurs. we are a late for that has noticed the universe for what is has shown us!
Why has there been no major wipe out since the ice age?
This one i just dont know!
What is the missing link between us evolving from cavemen into intellectual human beings?
I believe it has something to do with science. there must be something that the science of our prehistoric brothers and sisters that science cannot or has not found yet!
If it speaks in the bible of us returning home, doesn't returning imply that we have been there before?
Yes, that would mean we would all be non existent. And it would go back to the time of "Adam and Eve" which is a myth!
Why do some of us always feel like we want more & as we acquire more how come nothing ever satisfies us?
Some people have been brought up into a different realization of the world and gain more knowledge or more key quests to making our lives better. We are unsatisfied because we find things that are far more interesting and could help us leaving us with more of a satisfaction out there. If there is more to be found the more satisfied we will become.
What if we are desiring a state of mind or feeling that we have experienced before....how can you want something without knowing what it is you want?.
This Occurs many time more than just once in a lifetime. Really in a logical sense, we don't really know what we want or what we desire to live. We just make use of what we have and what we know and use it to our ability and move n with our lives. We don't sit around and wait for an person or a feeling to know what we want.
We are always desiring a state of mind, when you look at the one you love; in your mind what are you thinking? ...That is putting yourself in a state of mind. normally you are thinking about how much you care about that person and whether you really do love them or not.

The question "Who is God?" is a good question. It is better than asking "What is God?" This is because God exists, created us, loves us, is concerned for our being, desires to provide for us, and sent the Son to redeem us. If we were to ask "What is God?" we might be tempted to say that God is the infinite being, the creator, a presence, or something like that. In some respect, this would be true. But the first question brings us closer to understanding more of who God really is in His character and His love for us as revealed in the Bible.
The Bible teaches us that in all existence, from all eternity, there has been and always will be only one God. God was never created, is completely loving, completely just, completely holy, completely merciful, and that He desires the best for us. God is holy and He can have nothing to do with sin as the Bible says, "His eyes are too pure to look upon evil," (Hab. 1:13). This does not mean that God cannot see what someone does that is wrong. It is a way of describing how holy God is. God cannot sin. He is perfect.
In Christianity, God is a Trinity. This means that God is three persons, not three gods. Technically, the doctrine of the Trinity states that in the one God is the person of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is not the same person as the other; yet there are not three gods but one. This is similar in analogy to the nature of time. Time is past, present, and future. The past is not the same as the present, which is not the same as the future. But, there are not three times. There is only one thing called time.
The reason the word "person" is used in describing the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is because each exhibits attributes of personhood -- not in a body of flesh and bones, but in personality. In other words, each has a will, loves, speaks, is aware of others, communicates with others, etc. These are attributes of personhood and we see the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit each demonstrate these qualities.
Because of the Trinity, God can become flesh in the form of the Son, and still exist in such a way so that He can run the universe. Therefore, the Son can communicate to us on our level.
Following are a couple verses that hint at the Trinity.
Matt. 28:19, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit."
2 Cor. 13:14, "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all."
The Bible says there is only one God: "I am the Lord, and there is no other;
Besides Me there is no God," (Isaiah 45:5). Yet, the Bible teaches that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are each called God.
Below is a very brief chart that shows that each of the persons in the Trinity share the same attributes that only God shares. But remember, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each have wills, and speak, etc. Therefore, we say there are are three persons.
FATHER SON HOLY SPIRIT Called God Phil. 1:2 John 1:1,14; Acts 5:3-4 Creator

Millions of books have been written and still the question remains there 'What is god? Who is god?', so that simply shows that all the books and all the answers have proved futile. All the theologians and all the philosophers have been utterly meaningless because the question is still there. All their answers are there but not a single answer has been achieved; no conclusion has come into the hands of humanity. Again every child asks 'What is god?' That simply shows one thing, that god is not something which can be asked about or answered.
God has to be experienced. It is an experience, and so profound an experience that even if you have it you cannot put it into words. If somebody asks you 'What is sweetness?' you will be at a loss. It is such a simple experience and everybody has it, but if somebody asks 'What is sweetness?' how are you going to explain? At the most you can offer a sweet to the person. You can say 'Take it and taste it.' But he will say 'I will taste only if I know beforehand what it is'; he is also right and logical. He says 'How can I take it? How can I eat it unless I am convinced that it is sweet? What is sweetness? First define it and prove it, and then I will eat!' Now there will be no way to prove it. The only proof is the taste of it, but that he is not willing to try; he wants a philosophy.

First I am going to answer your question to the best of my ability, then I am going to criticize other answers, because I can. Belief in God is having faith in something that there is an existance of a supreme being that is the maker of all. Believing in God gives people a reason for living, not everyone just the people that believe in God. There is a true answer to your question, but you will probably never know unless something does really happen when you die. For some, that is it, you die and that is it, no heaven no hell, you just die. For the believers, God is the supreme being that cannot be seen because a supreme being is not human, if he/she was human, then they would not be a supreme being.
The universe is everything that exists everywhere. That is it. It holds life as we know it. We don't know where it ends and starts, we just know it is there.
There has been no major wipe out since the ice age because no major event has happened since then. Nothing catastrophic I mean. That's just the way it is. For an ice age to occur something major needs to happen that would stop the suns rays from getting into the atmosphere. Like a meteor slamming into the Earth that is big enough to cause radio activity to occur in the atmosphere and stay there for months, years, decades, etc.
If you actually read about evolution you will read that cavemen were not homogenus like us. They were one of the first stages of humanity. 26,000 years ago, give or take a few, intellegent humans were born, us. By born I mean we just came into existance, there is no proof how we did. Some believe God others believe evolution, others believe we came from another planet.
The bible has a lot of flaws and holes that people cannot really answer. People just take it amongst themselves to translate it the way that they want to believe it. Faith.
Some people are just too greedy, that is how they are. Nothing will ever satisfy them. Hitler is a prime example of this. He took Berlin, but that wasn't enough, he wanted more so he took more the only way that he knew how. By killing. He kept going and going and if we did not get rid of him he would have kept going until he had the world. Then that would've not been enough. He would've kept going until he had it all.
I want world peace. I have never seen it though. Does that mean that I can't want it? No, I have a belief in what it is and it sounds good to me, so I want it.
All of these questions can only be answered by you. I for one, believe in God, BUT, I also believe in evolution. Why can't there be both? I have a lot of other beliefs that people would just laugh at but that is me. So let them laugh. You have to look deep down inside yourself and believe what it is that you want to believe. If you are a follower, then believe the things that someone else tells you to believe. That is your belief that someone else is right in something that no one else has true knowledge of. Believe in yourself and you will get an answer to all your questions.

Clearly, some of us are not as "intelectual" [sic] as you, but I'm wondering what it is about your life that you seem to desire a "major wipe out"!
Even though this question would have been better suited for the "Religion" forum, I think you should also consider submitting it into the "Health > Mental Health" forum . . . seriously!

Not a bad start on the questions that lead to an idea of an absolute. Lots of C.S. Lewis will make you happy, if not wise. Lots of Christians could benefit by allowing their image of God to grow into this century. The price is not as high as they imagine. Best wishes to you.

god is the filling for the fear you feel at the center of your chest...a filling for the emptiness you feel. That way, you are all filled up and you can sleep in peace cause daddy's watching out for you. I like my fear..it helps me appreciate the people that I love and my limited time here on earth.
