No. The judge will still allow it. Still you should always fight traffic violations because many get thrown away simply because the police officer is not able to attend court.

No, sorry, but "The cop made a mistake on the ticket so it's void" is a myth. All that's necessary for him to be guilty is for the State to be able to prove the "elements of the crime".

If the ticket was for running a stop sign, for example, then all they have to show is that he didn't stop. If he feels he wasn't the car the cop saw run the sign, he can argue that. He cannot legally lie in court though - he can plead "not guilty", but if he takes the stand he can't argue that the cop saw another car run the sign if it really was him.

Minor clerical errors are not enough to get a ticket dismissed. Sorry pay the clerk on your way out.

Nope...clerical errors will not dismiss a ticket, neither will the officer failing to sign it.

The only mistake I know of that will void out the ticket is if the officer forgets to sign it.

You can try, maybe you will get lucky. However, if everything else is correct, a judge generally will not throw out the ticket.

No a simple clerical error wont help as long as he has the correct license plate number and your friends name.
