Need to know if there is a lab somewhere that a person can send a sample of the freon from our new unit. Unit comes charged with R410 and we believe tech topped it with R22.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

this is a newly installed system - dealer has given us no paper work as we feel they are trying to hide big mistake. Thank you Amos S, good info.

no lab needed.Call a different company and have them check the pressure/temperature relationship of the current refrigerant charge.Tell the tech(the new one) what you think happened.
P/T relationship is an easy test.He will connect a test hose to either the high pressure or low pressure side of the system. At any given pressure, each type of refrigerant will have a corresponding temperature. If the temperature does not match the pressure, the refrigerant may be "mixed".

Check the receipt from the tech. He may have included the type freon used in the service call.
