I don't know what a "pshy class" is, but I heartily recommend the Cherokee for a native american people to learn about. The Navaho and Hopi are also interesting.

The 'forgotten folks' of the Nanticoke tribe are interesting. Due to being pretty much wiped out by interbreeding with whites and blacks, their culture has all but disappeared. I'm reading a fascinating book on that right now.
The Cherokee would be interesting, too, especially if you did a 'compare & contrast' between the remnant still in Cherokee, NC & the main tribe in Oklahoma.

If you are in Canada, you have literally hundreds of individual Bands to choose from. You could go Six Nations. Its the biggest confederation in Canada and is made up of the Onondaga, Oneida, Seneca, Mohawk, Cayuga and Tuscarora. To get information on them, just google anyone of the individual bands, or Grand River Six Nations to get info on all of them. Or you could do the Anishinaabe, which are mainly Odawa, Ojibwe, Chippwewa and Algonquin peoples. You will find all the information you need on either.

The Iroquois are also known at the Six Nations Confederacy. You still have six tribes to choose from. Good luck on that!!!!

Might try one of the really big tribes, like the Cherokee, Choctaw or Chickasaw nations. Big populations, and they have good websites with lots of info. The cherokees have their own written language, which would be a potential thing to mention in your project.

You might want to consider the SENECA Indians. They are the only Native Americans that still reside on their origional area of land.
