Okay, this is what i really do:
I spend the next five minutes feeling really pissed. Then I click on their account and say some nasty comment like "you smell" or "hahaha, that's so embarrassing" on their latest question. Then i start to calm down, but im still upset. I spend twenty minutes on the next question im answering trying to make it the "perfect answer" only to realise after it has been posted, that someone was quick enough to post a similar one b4 me. Then i edit my answer and say "that's not fair!!! I was thinking that first!!!" but ofcourse i still don't get best answer. Then i post a question that i know will offend loads of people because i feel really pissed.

If someone wants a less than perfect answer for a best answer, it is their stupidity not mine, I only try to help and if my answer was truly the best answer, and they give it to someone else who really doesn't know what they are talking about, so be it. When I give someone best answer, I really try to give it to the most deserving person who really tried their best to answer the question. I just say oh, well, and I move on to the next...

I think I know what you mean .... Many times I have felt that I wrote an EXCELLENT answer to a question. I have given
time and thought to my response ... In some cases, I have
expertise in regards to the topic or subject matter of the question ... but STILL no "BEST ANSWER"
Sometimes I am DISAPPOINTED ... However NOW I have
come to realize that .... JUST because I think that I have provided the "Best Answer" ... that doesn't mean that the
person ASKING the question feels that way.
The answer has to "touch" the asker .... in a certain way .... And, obviously .... ONLY the ASKER can say WHO actually
does THAT!
I found myself .... "shooting" to get BEST ANSWER ... NOW
my goal is to "make people think" .... Or to "share" or "defend" my opinions or beliefs ... I like to go back and see if I got any "thumbs ups" .... That is just as good as a "Best Answer" to me!

What can you do? It just means that you and the question poser differ in what you consider to be the best answer. Try complaining to Yahoo. But good luck with that.

Try to feel glad for the person who got best, and then go about my day.
