There is adhesive backed paper you can put on it. Watched HGTV and you can spray it. Try to leave an openng to see who is at the door. Whatever you do make sure it adds to the value of the home as if you have something on it and cannot remove it you will have to replace the glass.

I saw a new product the other day at Hobby Lobby, you just dip your item in it, rinse, and it is frosted. Looks like it could work great for candle holders, bottles, glassware, etc. I think there may be a resist of some kind that you put on it to make designs before you dip it. To frost your window glass there is an eching pastethat works well,or just get some frosted-look contact paper and put it on your window.

You can etch it. Etching medium is available at crafts stores.
You can also apply frosted film available at hardward\home improvement stores. I have the film in a crackle glass effect for many of my windows, and it looks nice.

If you are just going for a non-view effect, I would look for a milky adhesive foil to put on. You could get the foil either at Home Depot or in a craft store.

you can get a paint on "frosting" at most craft stores like michaels. you paint it on and it creates patterns not unlike ice freezing does.
there is also some paint now that they do at michaels that resemble stained glass...check it out.

Use a sand blaster.
Say what you wish but, a sand blaster will work perfectly. With a small hand held blaster you can draw/write or whatever on glass. Regardless of the glass shape to boot!
