Being a New Yorker, such as yourself, I'd have to say we're surviving together.

I believe that we are "trying" to live together, but with little success. Our "Society" has become fragmented with many groups putting forth their own agenda as the most important, to the detriment of Society" as a whole thereby ignoring the "common good" of all our people. .Religious animosity is rampant between our people as is Political animosity. The coming Presidential election si a good example of the "blood letting" that the Candidates are engaged in. Victory at any cost, not because they have the interest of the people of our country at heart, but rather because they are participating in the greatest ego trip of all contests with The Presidency.as First Prize. As for dying together, there is a good chance of that happening. The "Good Book" tells us that the world will end with Fire and Water. A few well placed Nuclear Bombs should take care of that.

Both, every day we live together, but every day we are closer to dying together, if you are talking about the human race in general.

Actually we are dying together.
After you're born.. you start to die... it's only a matter of time..
sometimes it takes 1 year and if you're lucky we can be dying together for 100 years. Stolat!

I would have to say we are doing both. We are born to live and we live to die. We are all here together so that is what it is and we are in this together.

Individually many of us have someone we are living with, and the end of our journey is death. Same with all people on this planet so both are true.
I like to think of it as we are all getting older and hopefully wiser together.
