That's their theory. Why would you ask a question that is a deep mystery if you wanted a funny answer?

Yes, just as it ruined my sense of wonder re: the Loch Ness Monster when you offered solid (well, SEMI-solid) "proof"
that she had drowned some weeks ago in my septic tank.

If they tell you in a snotty "Oh look at me, I'm sooooooo veeeeerrrryyyyyy intelligent!", then yes, it does annoy me.
It annoys me anyway though. I love to have a little mystery in my life, but, conversly, I like knowing the cause and effect. So, I like it when people tell me nicely, and besides, there's anough mystery to go around. =)

Some people just tend to think logically. They don't mean to ruin fun, and they might think you are looking for a solution, so like a man, they reach into their 'toolbox' and try to fix-it. lol!

No, but I think it's funny or even annoying when people give entirely serious and fiery answers to completely silly and harmless questions that are meant for fun only.

Not for me. I usually find myself laughing in this situation as to how stupid I was. Funny enough, is when my 5 year old nephew is the one to answer those types of questions.

yes! welll.... maybe. I'm stubborn so if i really care i just dismiss it. a friend of mine always likes to tell me why things are the way they are and such... but most of the time it's just irritating unless it is something like how jelly beans are made.
