Sickle cell exhibits codominance.

NN = normal hemoglobin
NS = sickle cell trait
SS = sickle cell disease or sickle cell anemia

Sickle cell is a resistive gene.
So when you have two parents and pass it on to their child that child winds up with sickle cell anemia.

A carrier can pass at along and not know they have it. The carrier does have one advantage they are immune from malaria.
