I hope that people realize that. They would be pretty ignorant not to. The Latino culture does have a reputation for disliking any link to being black. If you ever look at a Spanish language channel you would never know that Latino people come in many different shades from fair to dark dark brown. And any one who disputes needs a history lesson on how slaves were brought over to places like Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic by people from Spain, That is why they speak Spanish. The history is very similar to people from the west indian islands, and people consider them black.

Yes there are black Latinos, but mostly concentrated in the
Caribbean. The Spanish had African slaves as well as the English, Mostly for the sugarcane industry for the making of Caribbean rum.

Yes, I don't understand how people don't realize that; Latino is their ethnicity but black is their race; most black Latinos come from Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Panama, Cuba, and Colombia if I am correct

Tell them that !!!!

The slave trade brought many blacks to Mexico. Old marriage records suggest mixed marriages existed e.g. if an Indian married a mulatto or if a mestizo married a black.

But, how many will acknowledge that ???

Did you know that all of us are actually "mixed race"....?
There is no such think as a "pure blood line" or a pure race...
it is just completely impossible.

There is no such thing as a "pure race" [such as the one Hitler attempted to create, unsuccessfuly].

I think it is a GOOD thing that we are ALL mixed races....
: )
I just wish we could all get along....
