Yes I remember Earl Thomas Conley. I always liked the driving sound he had on"Don't Make It Easy For Me" I also liked "Heavenly Bodies" I got to see him one time as he was the opening act for Hank Williams Jr.

Hey girl - love your rememberance of these great ol' Country & Western (the REAL country music!) musicians.
Sad to report - Hank Thompson passed away.
Link to the story, below.
Would have e-mailed you but no address available.
And yes, to the question about Earl.
Now - a question for YOU:
Do you remember Joe Ely?

"Rose colored glasses"? Yes, I remember him. I also remember Charlie Rich, Crystal Gayle, Ronnie Milsap, and Charlie Pride. Now that was country. What passes for country now is just a bunch of amalgamated crap. Everybody sounds the same and it's not country anymore. I couldn't stand Conway Twitty back then, but I'd give anything to hear him over what's playing now.
