Thanks to everyone so far!
I am going into my 4th week of being on my period and I had a grand mal seizure from the Provera, so the Doctor said this was my only option left...just a little nervous :)

A D & C (dilation and curettage) isn't painful, most likely you will be under anesthesia. You may feel a little bit of cramping, but that's normal under the circumstances. You will also need to wear a pad as there will be some bleeding. You will not be bed-ridden at all. I have had about 4 D & C's because of my periods being all messed up.

like mim, i had to have a D&C due to miscarraige that my body could not take care of on it's own. Aside from the obvious emotional pain I was in, I felt like someone had ripped out my guts afterwards. I laid in bed for a week. And FYI, I had a baby with no pain meds, so I'm not weak or a sissy when it comes to pain. Have you been informed of what a D&C actually is... as in... the process and what they do? You will bleed afterwards, have cramping, and dull aching pain. I almost bled out on the table, but that's due to other medical issues. My experience may be far from the norm, as I said I have other medical issues, but be advised that it is not a walk in the park.
